Prague Impro Room

We are a Prague-based cultural platform and video series featuring live concerts, artist interviews, masterclasses and jam sessions. We bring Czech musicians together with acclaimed international artists and create space for music and visual art to meet. Our aim is to give underrepresented voices in Czech culture the visibility they deserve.

Our programme takes place across three stages:

Living Studio Stage is set in a private apartment near Náměstí Republiky. We welcome international guests into a living room that transforms into a recording studio. For each concert, the space also becomes a gallery featuring the work of a different visual artist.

Young Artists Stage takes place at the Goethe-Institut, with a beautiful view of Prague Castle. Czech and international artists lead masterclasses alongside leading young Czech bands, and each event ends with an open jam session.

Impro Kids Stage offers a creative programme for kindergarten children, introducing them to music through improvisation.

Our programme also includes Touha tvořit, touha žít (The Desire to Create, the Desire to Live), a one-hour performance bringing together a violin and piano duo with two actors. It tells the story of the gifted young composer Gideon Klein, whose life was cut short in Terezín. Through music and theatre, we remember important moments in history and open space for reflection and conversation.
